(cloth) fever

    Something is happening.
Cloth fever has descended upon this house.

                                                                                                   skeleton jeans

                                                                                                         wish cloth

I love this song -- just imagine it being all about cloth!

Never know how much I love you,
Never know how much I care.
When you put your arms around me,
I get a fever that's so hard to bear.

You give me fever,
When you kiss me,
Fever when you hold me tight.
Fever! In the morning,
Fever all through the night.

Sun lights up the daytime
And moon lights up the night..
I light up when you call my name
And you know I'm gonna treat you right

You give me fever
When you kiss me,
Fever when you hold me tight.
Fever! In the morning,
And fever all through the night

Everybody's got the fever
That is something you all know
Fever isn't such a new thing
Fever started long ago

Romeo loved Juliette
Juliette she felt the same
When he put his arms around her he said,
"Julie, Baby , you're my flame

"Thou giveth fever
"When we kisseth
"Fever with thy flaming youth
"Fever! I'm afire,
"Fever, yeah, I burn, forsooth."

Cap'in Smith and Pocahontas had a very mad affair
When her daddy tried to kill him
She said,
"Daddy, oh, don't you dare!

"He gives me fever
"With his kisses
"Fever when he holds me tight
"Fever! I'm his missus, So
"Daddy, Won't you treat him right?"

Now you've listened to my story,
Here's the point that I have made:
Chicks were born to give you fever,
Be it Fahrenheit or Centigrade

They give you fever
When you kiss them
Fever if you live and learn
Fever! 'till you sizzle
what a lovely way to burn
what a lovely way to burn
what a lovely way to burn
what a lovely way to burn

  1. love the song, also. Great little pick me up, haven't heard it in a long time. What is "wish" cloth? like the rumi cloth, but written wishes you desire?

  2. Helen, yes, like rumi cloth only wishes. To sort of point me in a direction, I won't say the "right" direction, just "a" direction! Isn't that the coolest song? Am going to put it on my ipod.

  3. yes. wondrous song! had a friend here in billings for a while (until she moved) that had a band, roxy la fevers and the boogie men, who used to sing that song. that and one of her originals, something spicy, were amongst my faves. thanks for the indirect trip down memory lane!

great idea for the wish cloth... first rumi cloth. now wish cloth. sparks so many possibilities for other cloths. can hardly wait to see what you end up releasing from your workshop pile of fabrics!

  4. Oh, I would've loved to hear roxy and the boogie men (just their names are cool)-- did they move to Colorado by any chance? Ha.

Thanks, I have no idea where the written words will take me . . . and now I'm hopping over to see you!

  6. Thanks, Nandas! Those skeletons may come in handy someday, who knows -- maybe I can weave some cloth back on 'em!

  8. Hi Deanna -- it IS a fun one to sing along with, isn't it? I just did it too! Sitting in front of the computer, crossed leg bobbing, fingers snapping, singing. What a sight I must be.
