Day 5...stitch further
Color wanted to come to the party, I guess. Last night everytime I reached for more gray thread, I came up with other colors -- green, purple, orange, green again. Okay then. Those bits of color and a few silk organza mosaics change this piece. In a good way, I think.

It is what it is -- a fake pumpkin and a black sharpie.
See you moonday. xo
i love the color additions to your stitching. that pumpkin is just great. do you zentangle?
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin is fantastic! What fun! I like the spots of color you added.
ReplyDeleteHa! I love the checkerboard on the pumpkin...it made me smile : )
ReplyDeleteI always say I am going to try neutral colors of fabric but then end up with color...I am a "color" person!
Love the look of your weaving....
Rings of black and white and some color to boot! SO fun :)
ReplyDeleteDeanna, thanks -- I don't zentangle but I have a friend who does and she sent me some info. once on it. I should check it out again. Do you?
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jeannie -- it's something I started wayyyy back. Also painted one black and drew golden spider webs all over it. My daughter did one with polka-dots, I'm thinking of a filigree pattern next...
ReplyDeleteMarie, it's relaxing mindless work to checkerboard a surface, especially on something funky -- thanks.
ReplyDeleteYour use of color is what I love about your pieces! I'm taking baby steps towards being more colorful...slow but sure.
Nancy, thanks -- I'm trying to be open to what comes along!
ReplyDeleteI sometimes zentangle and have a couple of books and designs bookmarked but haven't really gotten into it 'yet'. I do want to. New books keep coming out and it re-inspires me, but there isn't time for everything I want to do. There isn't even enough time for everything I do.
