bulbs out::marguerite sweet potato vine, ipomoea batatas. I was cleaning out patio pots and out they popped, so round and rosy. Guess I'll try to save them following these instructions from NDSU. I wonder why they are so drastically different in shape. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth comes to mind. :)
Well, what a nice surprise!
ReplyDeletethey are a painting amidst the green grass.
ReplyDeleteLove those sweet potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI have little crystals amongst my plants too! Love those devas!xxx
interesting sweet potatoes.
ReplyDeleteI have never tried to save over the impomoea, but you have inspired me to do so this year. If nothing else, the shrews will have something to nibble on - lol. Question - when you were planting your bulbs, were you tempted to see if the papery skins would dye fabric like onion skins? I picked up some and have been pondering it. I am tempted to go get some hyacinths, just for the deep red/purple skins. LOL! Nothing is safe from experiment, I guess. Love the quartz in with the bulbs.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing the quartz crystal in with the bulbs.
ReplyDeleteMany years ago I was in Santa Fe and the person I was
with knew the area well...places tourist did not know.
I was taken to a small mountain that was only known well by locals. There were crystals sticking up through the dirt. The indigenous people considered the land sacred. I understand why...it is magical.
Nancy, it truly was a surprise. Thought one of the dogs' balls got in there!
ReplyDeleteCindy, so much beauty this time of year, even this!
ReplyDeleteTrish, thanks. You know I didn't really realize about the feng shui bagua at first, just felt the urge to place a crystal there and then it dawned on me. I have been having a heck of a time finding various workers, etc. for house stuff so hopefully this'll help.
ReplyDeleteDeanna, and they're even edible. Though I bet they aren't that great!
ReplyDeleteJeannie, hope it works for us to save them. It didn't even cross my mind to use the skins of the daffodil bulbs! Now I wish I would've thought about it. I hope you try it out and let us know what happens. :)
ReplyDeleteMarie, oh my, that must've been incredible. What a gift to have been taken there! Some friends used to go to Arkansas to harvest crystals, think I still have a few, and that's the closest I've gotten to their original place in the Earth.
