last day of summer

The last day of summer.....Japanese indigo leaves for the dye-pot.....calendula flowers for salve-making.....the garden gives us more food than I ever thought possible back in June. It is very wild here now, Buddha's garden is cram-packed and the Maximilian sunflowers are having their way with me.

Good-bye summer. I had a really good time.

  1. I so love your Buddha's garden, so wild and peace-filled at the same time. The whole garden looks like an invitation to explore. Wouldn't a child love to play there? The dyes are spectacular! Love those blues, including the blue stick!

  3. Nurtured and wild just as a garden should be! Yes, it does look like "an invitation to explore." Oh, how I love the blues!!!

  4. It does still look lush and healthy, mines gone past its best and now the nights are chillier, leaves are turning colour and frazzling up. My tomatoes are finally all ripening off but I've grown way too many lol So folks go away with some magnificent but weirdly shaped toms in their bags lol
Delicious blue fabrics, some lovely different shades too.

  5. Love your indigo fabrics from your own garden, how wonderful.
I'll be thinking of you Sunday night during the full, harvest, lunar eclipse moon. I must make a block for the moon quilt.
I hope to be back blogging next week. Life keeps getting in the way, starting with my computer crashing.

  6. I think your photographs would make a marvelous book... a country homemaker through the seasons, or some such thing.

  7. Your shades of blue are gorgeous, especially against the background of your rainbow garden. Do you have plans for the cloth?
