unknitting moonwise

Moonwise, now is a time to cut back, let go of, and rest. Not exactly how I've been spending my days and some re-syncing with moon energy is in order.

Since it's been so-so cold out, I'd like to wear this red scarf I made a few years ago. It was such luscious yarn that I literally couldn't stop knitting -- it's 140" long including the fringe. Crazy, huh? Too long to wear -- wrapping it 'round and 'round my neck or even doubling it -- nothing helps. Besides, it's itchy. I don't know what I was thinking, must've been trance knitting.

Moonwise, I'm trimming my to-do list for the day. And then unknitting at least three feet. How about you?

  2. It's easy to get carried away when you are enjoying something (the meditation of knitting) and so loving the yarn.
Good luck with you 'un-knitting'. It will be nice to be able to wear your beautiful scarf...and you may even be able to make a smaller one for a friend with your un-knitted yarn?

  3. Unknitting...OK! Plus who needs itchy? I judge everything by how soft and good it feels :) It IS a beautiful fiber though.

  4. Your unknitting sounds better than me sitting here at work attaching tattle-tapes on the back of the books! Indeed it looks luscious and can't feel the itchiness from here - Keep warm inside o Moonwise day - Hugs Nat

  5. It is beautiful... Have you thought about felting it? Or maybe lining it with something, at least around the neck?

  7. Jacky, thanks and you're right -- there'll be an amount of yarn coming off, and I'll get to reknit it! Yay!

  8. Nancy, yes it's really wonderful yarn and of course doesn't feel itchy at all to my hands -- but I like Deb's idea to line it to solve the problem....

  10. Deb, both fabulous ideas -- thank you! It didn't even dawn on me that I could do something about the itch. :)
