i hope

the red sun prayer cloth is nestled in some berry-laden juniper trees facing the great sun in the south. I've asked the winds to lift and carry the hopes and prayers and healing love instilled in the rows of weaving and stitching to where ever they are needed.

I hope it somehow helps people find nourishment and safe, warm shelter on this snowy day in Japan. I hope it somehow helps lift people out of the abyss of grief and despair. I hope it helps the air to cleanse itself and the water to purify itself. I hope it helps the land to grow clean food again. I hope it helps all of Nature's two-leggeds, four-leggeds, no-leggeds, water-dwellers and wings on air to regain their natural state of health and vitality.

I hope.

  7. I just got some "red" from thrift store today, you have totally inspired me. The Japenese people got a triple whammy, an earthquake, a tsunami, and a nuclear meltdown. They need a ton of hope, prayer, and love sent their way. Love your writing, peggy.

  14. Peggy, You must go to Shibori girl.com and then go to her facebook link on the left and a post on glennis's wall from Thursday, titled "An unbelievable letter" it is from someone in Sendai and is truly unbelievable. These prayer flags are so ....I'm speechless.

  15. Helen, THANK YOU. That is some letter. The last paragraph is amazing. It strikes a note in me, I think she's right, that a new world is being birthed, that it's hard but magnificent. And that our hearts are getting cracked open like the Earth. I don't do too much on facebook but I "shared" it, too. Thank you again, Helen.

  18. Thanks, Nat -- the flag is the only sewing I've done lately. After that, maybe it's time to replenish. We'll see what today brings, Equinox and all. Hug is a comforting word/feeling! Back to you. . .

  19. Liniecat, thank you -- yes, the red sun...it's the flag, and also the Japanese culture protrays/illustrates the sun in red instead of yellow. The facebook letter Helen mentioned is worth the time to go there. Definitely!
