shake a leg moonday

Last week we again crafted and cooked and watched football. We talked and ate and toasted our blessings with heartfelt emotion.

Here is some of what still remains with a new season nearly upon us . . .

Today is a waxing moonday in Aquarius. Airy Aquarius is associated with community, open conversation, imagination, movement, and control. That control part is something to observe -- even though we may be drawn toward the warmth and connection of community, we might not be in a place of wanting to give up control simply to do so. Like a breeze of wind, we may blow in and out, here and there, soft and hard.

Aquarius rules the legs -- conditions of the legs, as well as healing them, are at the forefront now. One of my first childhood memories is of my legs aching at night. To a lesser degree, this has continued throughout my life. I realize now that I probably needed more minerals, magnesium in particular. Drinking strong medicinal herbal infusions and using herbal vinegars help to raise my mineral intake making those leg aches less of an issue these days. Taking a magnesium supplement would help, too, I have no doubt. Interesting that varicose veins can be caused by lack of movement, both of the circulatory/digestive systems and actual physical movement -- more Aquarian aspects in play.

Yet even as the old still falls away, the buds of new life appear.

  1. Those leg pains were attributed to "growing pains" when I was a child. I've never thought about it being a lack of minerals, I'll pass that on to my daughter, one of my granddaughters has recurring leg pain...thanks.

  2. Nanette, yes, I remember being told that, too, and my mother used to give me calcium but it never helped. Hope they get it resolved, I feel for her! Dehydration is another common cause...

  4. loving those pics. i, too, used to be told what i had was growing pains, even way into adulthood. i've taken vitamins and minerals for years and tried acupuncture which helped for a while but the 2 things that took it all away---my weight is totally under control and 30 minutes on a recumbent bike every single day for the past 4-5 years. not a pain in sight and i will be 70 in a few months.

  6. Happy moonday Peggy. Thanks for the information on mineral intake.
I do love your many candle sticks. Have you ever used it to wrap the cloth around it for dyeing?

  7. Marie, you're lucky to have your rosemary bloom, aren't they beautiful flowers? I don't think it's too unusual for it to bloom, what's unusual is to even have a HEALTHY enough plant to bloom, so you're doing great!! Buds for next spring show on some trees and shrubs but not all. Hope!

  8. Deanna, is your recumbent bike a stationary one or do you ride outside? They are so interesting, but I've never been on one -- thanks for the tip. I know yoga is good for me -- love the way I feel when I actually do it, but don't seem to be able to stay with it for any length of time...

  9. Nancy, I wish we could do that, too! There is something very special about getting to know people through writing, for sure.

  10. Nat, thanks -- that's a great idea about the candlesticks, would the water affect them in any way, I wonder. Right there in front of me, I've got mordant!
