things to do now

I don't usually go on here about world events and I won't now. But things have definitely gotten my attention lately.

And when it gets to be too much, there's cloth to stitch, bulbs to plant, floors to sweep, and dogs to walk.

Back and forth.

Thanks for visiting. xx

  2. Jane, thank you -- it's linen so the frayed edges are nice and soft and floaty....

  4. The light reflecting from the damp earth mirrors the darker colours of your cloth exactly: the two photos look wonderful together! I find all of those activities very grounding when the mind is troubled by uncontrollable events.

  5. Beautiful, earthy tones .... real garden colours. I can almost smell the earth.
Outside with nature, quietly stitching...a nice way to get back to the simpler (important) issues in life. Block out the external buzz.

  6. Lots of upheaval.... I think of the bulbs "upheaved", ready for some rest and then re-planting?

  8. oh peggy! that new weaving is splendid! i, too, am enamored by the green and the little sun...though the seeming grey (is that a trick of my monitor?) reflects the deepening autumn and is a very nice counterpoint to the hope that resides in the green and the sun!

as for world events...i try to stay more focused on my own little village and just allow what is, to just be. otherwise i would drive myself crazy with things i cannot affect...

  9. I began stitching as a way to "deal" with my world. Because it was sooo stressful at the time I found stitching to be a comfort.
Love your "green" weaving! Oh the mixture of fabrics is just yummy....love the brownish, grayish, colors with the bright green : )

  11. I agree with you about the disturbing world events. We were away for 2 weeks and on the television were world news (bad news). So glad to be back and have lots to do in the house, garden and not to mention work. I love the green weaving cloth you are working on - Hugs Nat
