take it further: green hand

I took the green hand a little further with:

:: a leafy area
:: magic threads around the moon
:: grape-dyed patches over some kantha-stitched squares

I'm liking this piece more and more -- henna-ing the hand next.

I'm loving this! I thought they were real leaves too, and love how the hand is reaching for the moon. Henna Hand - Yes!

the magic thread is perfect...like an aura of light around the hand. Loving the emergence of the hand from the leaves.
Kantha is my favorite stitch.
p.s. Love your map candles. Essential oils are a favorite
especially in an essential oil burner...nice : )

Everytime I see this cloth it inspires me. I've been working on my kantha stitches since the last time I saw it, so you know...

Trish, Deanna, Jo, Marie, Nancy, Cindy & Gracie -- thank you so much for your kind words! Cutting around the leaves along the top edge helps the whole piece, I think, and some eyes are also going to start appearing in the foliage. Kantha is my favorite (so far) for both filling in and quilting!
