Last night, I found a vintage scrap of the softest green velvet.

  1. Deanna, yes! But I'm having a problem with cutting it up for some reason. Silly, I know. So I'm thinking maybe I'll outline the shapes with stitch?

  2. that sounds like an good idea. you could also make some slits and weave right through it.

  3. What a clever spot to find already well used fabric! I look forward to seeing what you do with it. :)

  4. Deanna, weaving, that's an idea! -- also the way you cut and folded back would keep it all intact.

  5. Marie, you know I think I've got new eyes since I started reading blogs and taking on-line classes -- this would've been sacrilegious a year ago!

  6. Ha! I agree with you. Since finding Jude and others, my whole perception of stitching has changed. I am finally freed of trying to make thinks "perfect". I love ragged, imperfect, faded stitching and I am not going back to the way I used to do things. Soooo liberating.
